Message You're accelerating under boost and you hit redline, so you have to shift, right? Then you have the same Z with a stock TT diff accelerating next to you, but as you're shifting and losing boost, he's a tad bit behind you because of his disadvantageous gearing, but he's STILL IN FULL BOOST whereas you're too busy shifting and dropping your RPMs to where you're not boosting. At this time, he will most likely make up that difference and proabably pass you.
:How does this not make sense?

So the stock geared TT car doesn't have to shift? Maybe it has one big single gear from 0-150mph! Guess what, he has to shift too. He might do it later but when he shifts he'll lose the same boost and time shifting. At that point the 4.10 geared car will obliterate him even if the stock geared car did catch up and pass just a little.

Have you also forgotten that even though you come out of boost quicker (only because you have to shift sooner) you also get INTO boost much quicker? It balances out pretty easily.
